With the addition of a new family member, taking cabs is unavoidable nowadays for 笨mummy. Now a point system by Comfort for those people who take cabs is here. http://cabrewards.cdgtaxi.com.sg
From now to end May, there is a 500 points give for those who sign up. Why not sign up now and enjoy that extra head start.
Under the cabreward system, payment by cashless mode would enjoy 1 point per $1 spent and a total of 1000 point can redeem a $5 comfort taxi voucher. Couple this with the Nets Flashpay, one can enjoy a further 5% rebate on taxi fare if one spent more than $30 per month on cab. (See Nets Flashpay promotion: http://www.nets.com.sg/offers-a-promotions/nets-flashpay/taxi-rebate-flashpaycard)
The 5% rebate can break-even the admin fee of $0.30 charged at a cab fare of S$6.
Also for those that have the OCBC Frank credit card, the money that was top up into the credit card Nets Flashpay function is entitled to the 6% rebate (if one fulfill the OCBC 6% rebate requirement) and your break- even limit is even lower of S$3 [$3 x (5% + 6%)].

So yummy.. 3.05% interest from OCBC 360 account.
http://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/accounts/360-account.html
Revamp to OCBC 360 account makes it so hard to resist. 笨mummy just apply to open the account over lunch.
Time to parking the emergency fund to earn the higher interest. With the FAST, it no longer matter when one's salary is credited. It takes just a few minutes and the money is moved from one bank to another. Plus paying 3 unique bills is a piece of cake and spending $400 a month on OCBC credit card is not an easy task.

Getting back
Yes, 笨mummy has been away for a long long time... her last post was May last year. Now she is back. Last year was eventful for 笨mummy. Coping with pregnancy, emergency C-Section, to being a mummy taking care of a newborn baby, coping with nasty confinement nanny, and dealing with in-laws. Now things have more or less being more stable for 笨mummy, though she is still quite busy and 24 hours a day is always no enough for her. It is good to be back to doing what she uses to do... penning down her thought in a blog and sharing things and ideas with others. :)

Beauty of Standard Chartered Xtrasaver account
笨mummy has been late in discovering the beauty of the Standard Chartered Xtrasaver account. But it is still better late than never.
So what is so great about this account? It allows one to get cashback from Mastercard spending (extra for petrol) depending on how much you have in the checking account:
In addition, there is also 0.5% cashback from Nets transaction. This is what that makes 笨mummy excited over the Xtrasaver account.
Every Jul, 笨mummy needs to pay her annual insurance premium of $3.5K to Prudential and the best credit card to use is , of course, the Standard Chartered Manhattan Credit Card that offers a 5% rebate on any spending of $3K in the month (capped at $200 cash rebate per quarter).
Now with the Xtrasaver debit card, 笨mummy can now pay the bill to her Manhattan Credit Card using the Net function of Xtrasaver debit card at the AXS machine and this would give her an additional $17.5.
